How to Pass a Drug Test

Pretty much everyone who enjoys marijuana, whether regularly or just the occasional puff, has had to take a drug test at one time or another.  No matter how often you use it, you know that this test can be an issue, so it is very easy to get stressed out at the prospect.  While it is never a good thing, we will give you some advice here to ensure that you can go into that test without a worry and pass it as if you were living on the straight and narrow.

One major problem that employee drug tests pose for marijuana smokers is that they can still detect the use of marijuana even six weeks after use.  Also, marijuana drug tests do not measure how much you have used, but just the metabolites left over after using, so whether you had one joint at a concert or you smoke three times a day, the same positive result is going to be flagged.  Traditionally, large companies have insisted on new employees getting drug tests as a part of the hiring process.  With the lower costs of drug tests these days, even much smaller companies are insisting on drug tests.  With the job market the way it is, and the often short hiring process, there is no way for most users to pass these tests. 1. Water
This seems so obvious, but many people go through life at least partially dehydrated.  When you are trying to pass a drug tests, this is even worse.  As soon as you find out that you have to take a drug test, you want to drink as much water as possible.  This doesn’t mean a couple of 20 oz. bottles a day, either, but instead you should be going through gallons of water.  This won’t clean out everything, but it will help flush out the remains of your last smoke.

2. Skip the Urine cleansers
Every website on the Internet will try to sell you commercial urine cleaner.  The problem is there is no proof that any of these cleaners actually work.  Essentially, you’re paying a large amount of money for some flavor and an untested mix of diuretics and herbs that might or might not have any effect on the results of your test.  Also, since most of these products tell you to drink them right before the test, you are taking the risk that your body might not process the product the same way as that company’s testers did, and it won’t do you any good.  

3. Midol
Diuretics, by their very nature, increase your urine flow.  This can help ensure that the metabolites (which are what the test is looking for) are flushed out of your system.  Caffeine is a diuretic too, but Midol does a better job of this, plus it does not leave you jittery like excessive amounts of caffeine will.   Midol has a diuretic to treat the bloating often related to PMS, and this same diuretic will help flush the liquids through your system faster.

4.  B Multivitamins
While water and diuretics help get liquids through your system faster, all this water can also thin out your urine to the point where it throws a red flag with the testers.  A good B multivitamin (look among prenatal vitamins) will help get your vitamin levels in the urine back up where they are expected to be, so you don’t look suspicious to the testers.

5.  Aspirin
Multiple studies have shown that for whatever reason, aspirin interferes with standard drug screening.  If you take 4 aspirin approximately 4 hours before the test, it can help “cloud” the results and get you a passing score.

Lastly, there is the simple matter of timing.  Put off your drug test as long as possible after being told of the requirement (most companies won’t give you too long, though).
